SENIOR INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER

Job Description


Essential Duties:

  • Support the creation of training content around learning objectives, as well as documented research, customer goals, user needs and requirements, and best practices.
  • Develop course content for instructor-led learning, computer-based training and blended learning as required including facilitator guides, learner workbooks, and job aids.
  • Define and document learning objectives.
  • Produce creative graphic design solutions that demonstrate an understanding of the client, brand, and end user/customer needs.
  • Coordinate with customers, stakeholders, subject matter experts, creatives, and users to develop and refine engaging instructional content.
  • Prepare storyboards and work closely with the design team to translate into a final product.
  • Communicate, articulate, and justify design intentions and decisions; and present clearly and effectively to customers, potential users, and internal/external team members.
  • Translate complicated concepts into easily understandable products.
  • Practice acute attention to detail in grammar, punctuation and ensure accuracy of the final product.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the application including the user communities and the array of capabilities, features, and functions.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree required:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, required

Minimum years of experience:
10 years, required

A portfolio of completed projects including writing samples and storyboards.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Graphic design experience.
  • Experience designing instructional materials and courseware for learning management systems; and supporting large-scale applications.
  • Ability to produce fully executed high-quality, concise, complex, and error-free work on time.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication, listening, note-taking, and distillation skills.

Technology:
Strong understanding of e-learning software including Articulate; and MS PowerPoint and MS Word.

Experience with the Adobe creative software on the Mac platform including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.
