SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Job Description


Essential Duties:

  • Facilitate team discovery sessions to inspire clients and uncover insights; and develop the strategic and messaging framework.
  • Research, write, and edit tailored messages for an array of audiences including internal stakeholders, external partners, leadership, current and future workforce for federal and commercial clients.
  • Develop innovative ideas to communicate corporate initiatives such as change management, outreach, and workforce development.
  • Define the communications strategy, understand how the strategy results are performing, and adjust as needed.
  • Lead and support client and corporate communications and marketing strategies to include, content development, presentations, and social and web content.
  • Advise clients, make recommendations, and provide strategic guidance to support development of marketing solutions.
  • Plan, develop, and oversee the creation and execution of various strategic communications and multimedia deliverables.
  • Present and sell concepts and ideas effectively to the clients.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, and consistent in style, quality, and voice for each user.
  • Help maintain budgets, schedules, service delivery, and customer engagement for clients.
  • Provide support to identify, establish, and maintain new and existing accounts through strong client relationships.
  • Mentor and ideate with communications staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree required:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field – Communications, Marketing, or Creative Writing

Minimum years of experience:
10 years

Minimum years of management experience:
N/A

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to adhere to standards, best practices, and processes for content creation, quality control, delivery, and content repurposing.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, leadership, and teams.
  • Ability to juggle a variety of concurrent initiatives and deadlines.
  • Self-starter, ability to operate with limited direction.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Technology:
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Teams, Word, and Excel, and web teleconference applications

Other:

  • Agency experience a plus
  • HubSpot experience a plus
  • Writing samples required
